Walden Macht Haran & Williams Announce New Leadership Structure
Jim Walden Hands Over the Reins to Executive Committee
NEW YORK (September 9, 2024) – Walden Macht Haran & Williams (WMHW) announced that Jim Walden, Managing Partner of the Firm, an elite litigation boutique, has handed over management to a five-member Executive Committee, with full authority to run the firm and lead its next phase of growth.
WMHW was founded in February 2015 as a six-person boutique, exclusively focused on white-collar criminal defense. As it approaches its 10th anniversary, WMHW boasts a 45-person team, with 19 highly acclaimed partners handling a wide array of matters beyond white-collar criminal defense, including important monitorships, complex commercial litigation, employment litigation, securities enforcement, and trust-and-estates matters. The Firm regularly appears at the top of various rankings for white-collar and litigation, including Chambers & Partners, Lawdragon and Benchmark Litigation.
The Executive Committee will have rotating chairs in its first three years, to help promote a culture of collegiality. The members are:
- Sean Haran, Chair through December 2025
- Milt Williams, 2026 Chair
- Georgia Winston, 2027 Chair
- Daniel Miller, Head of the Firm’s Philadelphia Office
- Jeffrey Udell, the Firm’s General Counsel
Walden said: “I am very excited for this next chapter of WMHW’s success. We have an incredibly strong team and a wonderful culture. We work on complex matters for great clients. And we have enjoyed financial success as well. I knew it was time for a new management structure since I never wanted this to be the ‘Jim Walden show.’ Sean, Milt, Georgia, Jeff and Dan have my full support and I was thrilled to give them the opportunity to lead the firm in its next phase.”
WMHW’s Executive Committee added: “Jim Walden founded this firm based on his vision of what he believed a law firm culture should be, and has done an amazing job of leading the firm to fulfill this vision. The result of his perseverance and dedication is that we now have the privilege of taking the reins of a workplace that we feel is very special. We are extremely grateful for Jim’s leadership over the past 10 years, and are excited to continue building upon his legacy.”
In addition to continuing his law practice at WMHW full time, Walden will now lead a committee focused on lateral recruitment and strategic growth, which will provide input to the Executive Committee’s decision-making.
