Milt Williams Secures Dismissal of $2 Billion Lawsuit

Walden Macht Haran & Williams LLP named partner Milton Williams, representing clients CCTV and Rajendra Singh, together with Mark Hansen of Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick PLLC, prevailed by securing dismissal of a lawsuit brought by Harbinger Capital (“Harbinger”) and Philip Falcone against CCTV, Singh, and Apollo Global Management (“Apollo”) for over $2 billion dollars.

Plaintiffs had alleged that Apollo, several of its principals, CCTV, and Singh all defrauded Harbinger by making misrepresentations and omissions to induce Harbinger to purchase telecommunications satellites which were inoperable.  WMHW partner Williams successfully persuaded New York’s Appellate Division, First Department, to affirm an order of dismissal previously issued by Supreme Court Justice Robert Reed. Apollo, represented by O’Melveny & Myers LLP partner Jonathan Rosenberg, also emerged victorious.
