Chris represents corporations and individuals in high-stakes civil, criminal, and regulatory matters.

Chris prosecutes and defends civil cases in federal court, state court, and arbitration across several areas, including employment law, contract disputes, securities fraud, and real estate.  He has experience at all stages of litigation and has drafted pleadings, dispositive motions, and appellate briefs.  Notably, Chris gained significant courtroom experience as a key member of a litigation team that won a two-week employment discrimination trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.  He also has significant experience leading complex internal investigations.

In addition to his civil practice, Chris represents individuals in white-collar criminal matters.  As part of his white-collar defense practice, Chris has drafted motions to dismiss indictments, negotiated non-prosecution agreements, presented oral argument at sentencing hearings, and represented clients in proffers with the United States Department of Justice.

Chris also has extensive experience in regulatory compliance, with a focus on anti-money laundering, sanctions, and internal audit-related issues. He previously served on the leadership team of a two-year independent monitorship of one of the world’s largest banks.  As part of the leadership team, he managed a comprehensive assessment of the bank’s internal audit function as well as the bank’s processes for identifying suspicious activity and sanctions violations.

Prior to joining WMHW, Chris practiced law with a top-ranked firm, where he defended businesses throughout all stages of employment litigation. He also served as an intern to the Honorable William D. Wall, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and worked as a law clerk with the National Football League.
