Philip represents individuals and corporations in criminal and civil matters in federal and state courts and before regulatory agencies. He has represented clients in investigations by the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorneys’ offices, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodities Futures Trading Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, FINRA, the New York Stock Exchange, the New York State Attorney General’s Office, and District Attorneys’ offices.

His clients have included executives and attorneys employed by global financial services firms; brokers and broker-dealers; accountants; and executives and employees of corporations involved in varied industries such as real estate development, defense contracting, pharmaceuticals, public works projects, and manufacturing. Throughout these proceedings, Philip has also counseled professionals and corporations on potential collateral consequences of investigations, such as industry bars by the Securities and Exchange Commission or debarment under the Federal Acquisition Regulations.

Philip also represents individuals and corporations in complex civil matters, including multi-district litigation, shareholder class actions, and derivative actions. He has litigated fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, professional malpractice, and other types of claims in federal and state courts. His clients have included individuals and entities involved in venture capital and private equity (including M&A matters), green energy, commercial contracting, art and collectibles, and the food service industry.

Prior to joining WMHW, Philip practiced law at a boutique firm specializing in white collar criminal defense and commercial litigation.  From 2012 to 2018 he was a co-author of The New York Law Journal’s International Criminal Law & Enforcement Column.
